SMART Live News Application

The Live news application of SMART will offer SMART end-users, like citizens using a web site, the possibility of accessing a huge amount of information and data in real time about their city or location.

This application will present geolocalized news and data on an interactive platform, mixing sensor’s observations, external data and news feeds, and social networks' conversations. The use of various data sources will allow the application to infer events and present the information related to the user’s location and social network.

The automatic process and filtering of the data from sensors will result in real time data presentation that allows an always updated status of the city. The data retrieval of the application layer from the SMART system is through queries to the search engine. One could indicate the user’s location for retrieving the latest events detected, or enter keywords to retrieve specific events, such as traffic, noise, music, crowds, color tendency, etc.
